Alfie is a 4 year old entire collie cross. He originally came into our care after his owner was admitted into hospital. He then spent the last year in another home but they felt their environment was too busy for him due to having various visitors which Alfie found difficult and would often bark and lunge until he got to know them.

Alfie is a very shy boy but if given time soon warms up to people. He requires a quiet adult home and an owner that is willing to give him the space and time he requires to gain confidence. Everything needs to be done gradually with Alfie so he doesn't feel threatened or get put into situations he find difficult.

Alfie is housetrained, is good when left alone for a few hours, travels well, knows some basic commands and is ok around other dogs.

Hello, I’m Bobby! I’m a 5 year old tri coloured Border Collie. I came into care because my previous owner couldn’t give me enough time due to work. I had a 7-week stay with another family, but it didn’t quite work out as I got a bit defensive with the lady of the house when she tried to correct me but when dad was around I felt much happier around her.

I’m a friendly guy when meeting people, I am housetrained, happy to be left alone for a few hours, and I travel well. I can be a little unsure around other dogs at first and often bark but once introduced correctly I can be ok but I may not live with others. I do have a bit of a chase instinct when it comes to cats.

I’m looking for a patient and understanding family who can help me feel confident and loved.

Ernie is a 5yr old neutered collie cross. He came into our care from his own home due to a change in his owners circumstances.

He is housetrained, is good when left alone for a few hours, responds to basic commands and travels well.

Ernie is shy meeting strangers and does sometimes bark so will need a little space and time. He also gets worried by visitors to the home so would be better suited to a quiet environment without young children.

He is shy around other dogs and does chase traffic.

(He will require a few visits)

Mowgli is 17 weeks old he came into our care after he was rescued from a home where there were several dogs all living in poor conditions.

He is a friendly little chap and is just learning to walk on a lead and socialise with other dogs now he doesn't have to compete for food. Everything is a new experience for him so he requires gradual socialisation.

Toffee is a 4yr old small collie cross. He was seized from a farm where he had spent most of his life locked in a shed.

He is a friendly chap and should be suitable to live with children over 8 years old. He is clean and settled in kennels and happily walks on a lead.

He does tend to bark at other dogs he sees out on a walk but in close contact interacts well.

Star is 2yr old black and white collie cross. She came into our care after being rescued from a home where several dogs were living in poor conditions.

She is a little shy so would be better suited to a calm household and would benefit from living with anther dog.

Star has no experience outside of the property she lived so will require time and patience and gradual exposure to new experiences.

As you may have noticed this lovely girl is not, in fact, a Border Collie. She somehow made the journey over from Ireland and into our rescue before anyone asked too many questions, so now we’re simply rolling with it!

She came into our care from another rescue after being given up from her previous home, where she was reportedly a little bossy with the other dog in the house and could guard her toys. She later spent time in foster care and was said to be very good with the children there but did snap at the grandmother.

Since arriving with us, she has been a little shy meeting people but quickly warmed up to staff and happily sought affection and attention. She has also walked nicely alongside another dog and is settling into kennel life well.

She did spend one night in a home but was returned as the following morning when she was out in the garden she snapped at the female owners arm causing a tooth scrape and also tore a small hole in her top.

We think she would suit a home that can give her clear boundaries, patience, and time to settle. She’s a sweet little character with lots of potential and we’re sure there’s someone out there willing to forgive her for not being a Border Collie!
