Ella is a 7 year old neutered sable and white medium coated collie. She originally came into our care due to a change in her owners circumstances. She then spent 9 days in another home but was returned as she growled/snapped at a visitor to the home.
Ella is a nervous girl and is missing the security of her owner. She requires a quiet home without young children or frequent visitors.
She is housetrained, is good when left alone, travels ok and just tends to ignore other dogs she sees out on a walk.
Whilst in our care she has been well behaved in kennels and has been quiet and clean.

Hello my name is Shep. I have been around for 6 years but sadly spent most of this time chained up outdoors, then my owner decided he didn't want me around at all so he sent me to a nearby rescue where i spent my days free of a chain and mixing with female dogs but nobody that came to visit wanted me so I'm now living in a recue that is just for collies.
Although I enjoy my time here having plenty of fuss, playing ball and going for long walks I would really like a home of my own. I did go to live with a lady for a week and whilst I was very good indoors, apart from emptying the bin she struggled to walk me as I do sometimes stalk and lunge towards other dogs and traffic and on one occasion when two dogs were peering at me over a wall I slipped my collar and jumped over to them, we did have a bit of an altercation but non of us were injured. I also spent 11 days in another home where i was very well behaved and happily met other people and even a couple of other dogs but then one morning I managed to get passed my owner and down the drive and on seeing a small dog i ran up to it and grabbed it, I didn't hurt it but obviously the owner was very shocked and upset.

Hello there my name is Bobby and i am 3 years old. I spent my life on a farm but wasn't very good at my job as a working collie so the farmer handed my to a rescue, soon after i was transferred to BCT where the staff told me i would soon find a new owner. I am worried around men so may take a little time to trust you.
I spent two weeks in a home but did struggle when my owners left me alone and they felt this wasn't fair on me and after lots of tears and talks they made the difficult decision to returned me to kennels.
When my owners were with me I enjoyed my time in a home particularly when we visited grandma as she had a large house and access to a big garden which I loved. I was housetrained during the day but did struggle overnight and when my owners went out.
I love going out for walks and meeting other dogs to play with, I know a few basic commands and enjoying going out in the car.
I have met the centre cats and I am very focused so I would not live with.

Willow will be 4yrs old in December he originally came into our care as his owner didn't feel she had enough time to give him due to work commitments and having a young child. He then spent two weeks in another home but was returned as he snapped when a stranger reached out to stroke him (no contact was made)
Willow can be a little unsure when first meeting strangers but given a little time he soon over comes his fears.
He is housetrained, is good when left alone, travels well, loves to play ball and is good with other dogs. He does lunge at traffic when out walking

Luna is a 1 year old neutered small Black and White short coated Collie Cross. She originally came into our care from a rescue in Ireland. We are told she was in a home with her litter sister but they rehomed Luna due her having a strong herding instinct. She then spent 5 weeks in another home but was returned as she stalked/worked other dogs and sometimes nipped when in close contact.
Luna is a friendly girl but due to her herding instinct she would be more suited to a home with older children. She is housetrained, enjoys playing with toys, responds to basic commands and travels well in a car.
Her previous owner said that when out on walks she was easily worried by noise and would then want to go back home so requires an owner that is willing to social her gradually in new surroundings so as not to overwhelm her.

Clive is an 1 year old, entire, Tri short coated Border Collie. He came into our care from a rescue in Ireland and we are told he was an unwanted farm dog.
Clive is a little shy when he firsts meets new people but given a little time and space he soon makes friends. He should be suitable to live with older children aged 15+.
He is ok meeting most dogs but can be reactive if they are bouncy so would be best as an only dog.
When walked in a quiet village with light passing traffic he was worried so would benefit from a quiet home/location so he is able to gain confidence in his own time.

Rico is a 5 year old neutered Black and White short coated Border Collie Cross. He came into our care from a rescue in Ireland. He was an unwanted pet, we are told he lived with children but we don't know what ages they were. He has lived in a rural area so will need introducing to new environments gradually.
Rico is a shy boy and can get worried when meeting strangers and if approached suddenly may bark, he requires time and space as once he overcomes his fears he is an affectionate boy. We wouldn't house him to live with young children.
He loves to play with toys and enjoys running around off lead in our enclosed outdoor area. He does sometimes bark at other dogs but if introduced correctly is usually ok. He is strong on the lead and when out walking in residential areas he does lunge towards traffic.

Reggie is a 4yr old entire tri coloured short coated collie he came into our care from his own home as his behaviour towards the other dog in the home declined and a behaviourist suggested he required more exercise and stimulation which the owner wasn't able to give.
He is very shy meeting strangers and would be better suited to a quiet home without young children or other dogs.
He is housetrained and crate trained, is fine being left alone for short periods of time, responds to basic commands and is fine meeting other dogs out on walk. He does salivate when travelling but has only been in a car on a couple of occasions.

Rissa is a 5 year old neutered cross breed. She came into our care from another kennels. She was rescued from a kill shelter where she was found along with her pups, but unfortunately the pups all died.
She is a very shy girl but is desperate to make friends and when given a little space soon approaches and wags her tail. She is good around other dogs and may benefit from living with a calm dog.
Rissa would be better suited to a calm home with someone that is willing to give her all the time she requires to adjust to living in a home environment and going out for a walk.

Harper is an 8 year old neutered Black and White Collie Cross. She came into our care from a rescue in Ireland. We are told her owner relinquished her as she snapped at a 2 year old child that was pestering her ?
Harper is a friendly girl but because of the above incident we wouldn't house her to live with young children. She is quiet and clean in her kennel, responds to basic commands and loves to play. She has been friendly towards everyone she has met and even though she is 8yrs old she is bouncy and excitable.
She does tend to bark when she sees other dogs being walked on our field but on meeting is usually ok. She does chase cats.

Jess is a 1 year old neutered, short coated black and white collie. She came into our care from a rescue in Ireland. Jess has lived in a home since she was 8 weeks old but was relinquished back to the rescue she was originally from as she struggled to cope in a busy household with several visitors.
Jess is a shy girl and although she has met staff without issues, she struggles meeting new people and may react/bark so requires an owner that understands her fear and won't put her in situations she finds difficult.
Jess knows some basic commands, is housetrained, loves to play with toys and enjoys her treats. She does tend to stalk other dogs out on a walk and in close contact is very over the top and a little nippy so would be better as an only dog.

Trudi is a nervous girl and is worried meeting new people and of close handling so would benefit from a quiet home without young children so she can relax and flourish in her own time.
We have been told Trudi was house trained, crate trained, was good with other dogs and travelled well when in the foster home

She is a little shy meeting people and is worried being walked in built up areas so will require an owner that is willing to introduce her to new experiences gradually and give her all the time she requires to gain confidence.
Cora has shown signs of being worried around some dogs especially those bigger than her so may need several meetings with another dog before she feels comfortable around them. She wouldn't live with a cat.

Daisy can be a little shy when first meeting strangers but quickly comes around and has been out walking with our regular volunteers without any issues. She should be fine with children over 10yrs old or those that are of a calm nature.
She has been good meeting most other dogs but may not live with others.
