Roxy is a 3 year old neutered red tri coloured short coated collie. She originally came into our care from another rescue after being found as a stray. She then spent 3 days in a home with another dog but sadly they didn't get along.
Roxy did struggle living alongside another dog which had an impact on her overall behaviour and although fine with the female owner she did snap at the man when he reached out to handle her.
Roxy can be worried being handled so requires time and patience to learn to trust people. She would benefit from a calm home without children or other pets. Once she trusts someone she is very affectionate Although she is good meeting other dogs out on a walk she wouldn't live with others.

Bastian is 4 year old neutered tri coloured short coated collie. He was a much loved family pet but sadly one of the children he lived with suffered a life threatening asthma attack and animals were found to be a trigger so sadly the family had to bring him into our care.
He was in another home for two days but on 2 occasions when he had just woke up and the female owner spoke to him Bastian jumped up and snapped at her hand/arm making contact. He also snapped at the male owner making contact and leaving a puncture wound when he tried to encourage him to drop a chicken wrapper he had taken from the bin. His original owner said they hadn't experienced anything like this with him.
Bastian happily greets everyone he meets and has been fine towards all the staff whilst in kennels but obviously in a new home environment may resource guard and require time to adjust when waking up.
He is house trained and crate trained, is good when left alone for a few hours, travels well, knows basic commands and tends to ignore other dogs when out walking due to this he may be best as an only dog. He has lived with cats but the home he was in for 2 days although good with the cat indoors he did chase her outdoors.
Bastian has lived with young children and been fine with them but due to the above incident we wouldn't house with anyone under the age of 17yr.

Hello everyone my name is Billy. I am 8 years old and I have been neutered.
I was in a home for 6 years but then my dad became ill with Dementia. He would shout and scream which scared me as I didn't understand why he had changed. Then one day when he was putting me in the car a male stranger walked down the neighbouring path and I jumped out and nipped him on the leg. Following this my life completely changed as my mum was scared that this could happen again and my dad could no longer care for me properly whilst she was at work. The neighbour reported the incident to the police and my mum and dad were told they had to keep me on a muzzle and a lead which my dad didn't fully understand and so didn't do.
My mum had no choice but to return me to the The Border Collie Trust, I tried to be as brave as I could but the truth is I am heartbroken and missing a family to love me. After being here a year nobody will even give me a chance because of what I did and the effect it's had on me trusting people. I am now worried by men as I don't know what they might do but given a chance and time I know I could learn to trust again. I am well behaved within the home and I am good in the car. I love all the staff here as they give me lots of walks and affection. I have even made friends with some work experience students and was fine going to the vets for my booster vaccination. All I need is a little space and understanding to help me with my fears and a home without children, cats or other dogs.
Please someone give me a second chance and make my life complete again.
Just before I go you will need to come and visit me a few times and on the first meeting please don't try to touch me as I get very scared as I think you might hurt me. I have met a male stranger and because he didn't try to interact with me the first few meetings and allowed me to move at my own space I soon realised I could trust him and now I happily greet him.

Tiko is a 3 year old tri coloured medium coated collie. He was originally found as a stray and then spent 2 months in a home.
He is house trained and crate trained, responds to basic commands and travels well although when out walking does lunge at traffic. Tiko has snapped over food in the home and on one occasion when grabbed by the collar to move him into a different room he snapped at his owner breaking the skin.
Tiko requires a calm quiet home without children or other pets.

Lucky has just turned 1yrs old he is an entire black and white medium coated collie. He came into our care as his owners weren't able to give him what he needed due to their own health issues.
He is a nervous boy and hasn't really been socialised around people, other dogs or children so will require an owner who is willing to give him the time and patience he requires to adapt to a new life. He is unsure around other dogs but if introduced correctly is fine. He isn't really used to travelling so again this will need to be built up over time.

Bailey is a 2 year old entire Tri Merle Border Collie. He came into our care from another rescue. He was originally an unwanted pet, his previous owner used an electric collar on him and had been seen mistreating him.
Bailey can be worried by sudden close handling so will require a calm and understanding owner who will give him the space and time he needs to trust people again. A new owner will need to be patient and not overwhelm him by putting him in situations he is uncomfortable with or being too strict with him.
He will be better suited to a home without children or several visitors. He has always lived outdoors so will need time to adapt to a home environment.

Hello everyone my name is Finlay apparently I am 2 years old and have been neutered.
I haven't had a great start to life and an x-ray has shown I have an old fracture to my lumbar spine which had healed and fused 2 vertebrae together but I don't let this affect me and I still run around and play like any other dog.
One day a family visited me whilst I was at the previous rescue and decide they would like to take me home with them, I was so happy for the first time I actually had my own people who gave me a lovely bed, regular meals and played ball with me, I was so happy. A little girl used to come and visit us and she would play in the garden with me, on one of her visits she gave me a hug but then whilst I was lying down chewing on my ball she flung her arms around my neck to give me another, this startled me and I snapped at her catching her face, I was so upset when I realised what I had done but it was too late and I found myself back in the rescue.
I am feeling so sad at loosing my home as I know people will just overlook me now but please give me a second chance as I'm not a bad dog I have just had a bad start in life.

Tess is a 9yr old neutered red tri collie cross lab. She came into our care due to the ill health of her elderly owner.
She is a friendly girl but has been used to a calm quiet home and would benefit from the same again. She is housetrained, responds well to commands, has been fine with visitors to the home including children within the family and is good with other dogs although not so keen on very small breeds.
She does lunge at traffic when out walking and will do the same in a vehicle so for travelling would be better in a covered crate. She isn't really used to being left alone so this will need to be built up over time. Chases cats

He is a calm friendly boy but does get a little worried when strangers reach over the top of his head so he may better suited with slightly older children. He does tend to stalk other dogs but in close contact is fine. Chases traffic.

She is easily worried so would benefit for a quieter home with older children only. She is unsure being walked in built up areas so will only require short walks in quiet areas to begin with. She is good with other dogs.
Granne does have a minor deformity to her right front foot, possibly an old break ? This doesn't seem to affect her.
