Wallace is a 7 year old neutered sable and white long coated collie. He came into our care as his owner was being made homeless and she was finding it difficult to find anywhere that would accept him as In March 2024 he did suffer some possible damage to his right hind cruciate ligament which was managed by modifying his exercise, he is booked in for an x-ray on Friday 7th March so we can asses if he requires any medical treatment.

He is a friendly boy and although has been fine with visiting children aged 4yr + we feel he would be better suited with those over 10yr old. He is housetrained, is good when left alone, travels well and just tends to ignore other dogs when out walking.

Listen up, chaps and chapesses! We’ve got a tale to tell about a chap called Billy—a fine lad who’s had a tough go of it. Billy’s 8 years old, neutered, and once lived the quiet life for six whole years. But life threw him a curveball when his dad fell ill with Dementia. The poor bloke started shouting and scaring Billy, who didn’t understand what was happening. Things came to a head one day when Billy, frightened out of his wits, nipped someone’s leg. Chaos ensued, as you can imagine.

His mum, bless her, had to make the hardest decision. With his dad unable to care for him and a neighbour involving the police, she brought Billy to Border Collie Trust, hoping he’d find a second chance. But nearly 2 years has passed now, and no one’s stepped forward. Dreadful shame, that.

Here’s the thing, though—Billy’s a good boy. He just needs time. He’s nervous around men (who can blame him?), but with patience and understanding, he’ll warm up. No sudden moves, mind! But once he trusts you, you’ll see he’s loyal to the core.

Billy’s dream home is calm and child-free, without cats or other dogs. He’s well-behaved indoors, loves car rides, and gets on famously with the staff here. But he needs someone who’ll visit him a few times, let him come round at his own pace, and give him the love he so deserves.

So, here’s the mission, folks: If you’ve got a kind heart, patience to spare, and room in your life for a nervous but loving chap, Billy’s waiting. Don’t let him be the one left behind.

Roxy’s a 3-year-old collie who’s had a bit of a rocky road so far, but she’s ready to trade that in for a life full of cuddles and comfy snoozes. Here’s the rundown:

A Gentle Soul: Roxy’s a cautious girl, especially when it comes to being handled, so she’s looking for a patient pal with a soft approach. She’ll warm up to you—promise!

Bailey is a 2 year old entire Tri Merle Border Collie. He came into our care from another rescue. He was originally an unwanted pet, his previous owner used an electric collar on him and had been seen mistreating him.

Bailey can be worried by sudden close handling so will require a calm and understanding owner who will give him the space and time he needs to trust people again.

He will be better suited to a home without children. He has always lived outdoors so will need time to adapt to a home environment although he is clean and settled in his kennel.

Bailey can be a little over the top with other dogs so may be best as an only dog.

Charlie

Charlie is a 3 year old entire black and white medium coated collie. He came into our care via social services as his owner was struggling to care for him and several children.

He is suffering from hair loss and whilst his previous owner told us this was stress related we can't guarantee this and have recently treated him for both fleas and mange mite.

When he first came into our care he was very nervous but after a few days did start to relax and approach female staff for a fuss, however he is still very worried meeting strangers and will often bark and back away so will require an owner that can give him the time and space he requires to gain trust in people. He would benefit from a quieter home without young children.

He has lived with another dog, is house trained although because he didn't go out very often sometimes soiled overnight, responds to basic commands, likes to play ball and travels well.

Storm is a 16mth old entire black and white short coated collie. He came into our care as he struggled living with six children and would spend all his time in a crate.

Although happily greets female strangers he is worried around men. He is an anxious boy so would be better suited to an owner who can read canine body language.

He is housetrained, responds to basic commands, is fine meeting other dogs out on a walk and is good when left alone for odd hours. He has only been in a vehicle on odd occasions.

Storm would benefit from a quiet home without young children.

Oggy is a 16 month old neutered Tri coloured short coated Border Collie. He came into our care from a rescue in Ireland after being found as a stray. We are told he has spent time in a foster home but we have no further information on this.

He is a bouncy, friendly boy but would be better suited with older children as when excited he does tend to mouth/nip. He responds to basic commands and has been good meeting other dogs in our care.

Ralf is a Black and White short coated Border Collie. His vaccination card states he is around 5yrs old but he is much younger, possibly 1 year old ? He came into our care from a rescue in Ireland along with another dog (possibly his litter mate?) we don't know if they were found straying together or if they were handed in to the pound by their owner.

He is a friendly boy but can be a little shy when he first meets new people. Since being in our care he has met volunteers and interacted well with gentle handling. He is good meeting other dogs and should be suitable to live with children aged 10yrs+.

Hi there, humans! Reilly here, reporting for duty! Let me tell you a bit about myself—I'm a lad from the Emerald Isle who somehow ended up in a pound. Not ideal, but hey, I’ve landed here now, ready to start the next chapter. The vet says I’m about 3, but between you and me, I’ve got the wisdom of someone who’s seen a bit more of the world. Let’s just say I’ve got stories to tell!

I’m a calm and friendly bloke, gentle as they come. But listen, I’m not into strangers being all grabby—especially over the head. Show me some respect, and we’ll get on just fine. Kids? I’m good with the older ones who know how to give a fella his space.

Now, about other dogs… I’ve got this little habit of channeling my inner detective and stalking them like I’m in some kind of doggy drama. But once we’ve been properly introduced, I’m all chill—promise!

Oh, and traffic? Don’t even get me started. I chase cars like they’ve nicked my kibble. So, yeah, best to keep me on a lead and away from the busy streets, alright?
