Alfie is a 4 year old entire collie cross. He originally came into our care after his owner was admitted into hospital. He then spent the last year in another home but they felt their environment was too busy for him due to having various visitors which Alfie found difficult and would often bark and lunge until he got to know them.
Alfie is a very shy boy but if given time soon warms up to people. He requires a quiet adult home and an owner that is willing to give him the space and time he requires to gain confidence. Everything needs to be done gradually with Alfie so he doesn't feel threatened or get put into situations he find difficult.
Alfie is housetrained, is good when left alone for a few hours, travels well, knows some basic commands and is ok around other dogs.

Jackson

Jackson is a 4 year old entire Border Collie. He was relinquished into our care from his own home. His owners lived in a 1 bedroom flat and were expecting a baby.
Jackson has not seen much of life outside of the flat so therefore lacks confidence meeting people and other dogs. Since being in our care his behaviour around other dogs has declined and he will be required to be muzzled when walking.
Once he has been given time to make friends with strangers Jackson is a loving and loyal companion.
He plays with toys, responds to basic commands. Due to him having limited access to outdoors he has sometimes toileted in his crate.
Jackson has lived with a cat but due to his behaviour around other dogs we would not home him to live with any other animals.
He isn't used to being left or travelling in a car so this will need to be built up gradually.
He will need an understanding owner who is willing to be build his confidence slowly to combat his fears.

Oreo is 5yrs old and has been neutered, he is a large boy and weighs 26kg. He has come over from a rescue in Romania we are told he was given up by his owner but we don't have any further details on this home.
He is a friendly boy and enjoys human company but he is easily worried by sudden hand movement so would be better suited with older calm children. We don't know if he is housetrained but he is clean and settled in his kennel.
He will need time to adapt to a new home and a different way of life so will require time and patience.
He is good meeting other dogs and at the previous rescue did mix with a variety of other dogs.

Shep is 8yrs old but hasn't been neutered. He came into our care due to the ill health of his owner. He was a much loved companion and the owner just wanted him to have a more fulfilled live as he was no longer able to give him this.
Shep is a friendly boy but hasn't much experience around children. He has been used to a very quiet home so may benefit from similar again.
He is housetrained, responds to basic commands and usually tends to ignore other dogs out on a walk although can sometimes bark especially at larger dogs.
He's not been a vehicle very often and at the moment needs to be lifted in.

He is a calm friendly chap who is housetrained, travels well and responds to basic commands.
He isn't really used to being left alone so this will need to be built gradually. He is also wary around other dogs so will need positive interactions with calm friendly dogs

Charlie is a 2 year old neutered Collie Cross. Before coming to us he spent his life living on a small holding in a secluded setting amongst several other dogs.
Charlie has no real life experience of the world outside of where he lived and had never been on a lead. It took us several weeks to gain his trust enabling us to then gently handle him, since then he has made good progress and now happily greets and interacts well with staff. He will happily go out for walk and spends time playing with dogs that he has built a relationship with.
He requires a quiet home environment and an owner that understands his needs and is willing to give him all the time and patience he requires.

Hi there! I’m Willow. I was 4 on Christmas Eve. I first came into care because my previous owner couldn’t give me enough time with work and a little one at home. I have had a few short stays in a couple of other homes but they didn't work out and unfortunately in the last one the man took a bag out of my mouth that had treats in it and because I got frustrated I snapped at him, but maybe a little too hard as my tooth punctured his skin.
I can be a little shy when meeting new people, but give me a moment and I soon warm up. I’m housetrained, happy to be left alone, and I travel well. I love playing ball and get along with other dogs. When I’m out walking, I can get a bit excited around traffic, but I’m learning!
I’m looking for a patient, loving home where I can feel safe and enjoy lots of fuss, fun and games.
I do chase the centre cats so may not live with.

Hello, I’m Bobby! I’m a 5 year old tri coloured Border Collie. I came into care because my previous owner couldn’t give me enough time due to work. I had a 7-week stay with another family, but it didn’t quite work out as I got a bit defensive with the lady of the house when she tried to correct me but when dad was around i felt much happier around her.
I’m a friendly guy when meeting people, I am housetrained, happy to be left alone for a few hours, and I travel well. I can be a little unsure around other dogs at first and often bark but once introduced correctly i rather enjoy their company. I do have a bit of a chase instinct when it comes to cats.
I’m looking for a patient and understanding family who can help me feel confident and loved.

Hello, I’m Bayley!
I’m a 5 year old neutered Collie Cross, and I’ve had quite the journey. I originally came to the rescue because my humans weren't feeling well enough to look after me. I've spent a very short time in two further homes, but I got worried around new people and did growl and snap.
I can be a bit unsure when meeting strangers, so I’ll need someone patient who can let me come to them in my own time but once I'm confident you're not a threat i will be your best friend. I do best in a calm home without lots of visitors or young children, where I can feel safe and relaxed.
The good news? I’m housetrained, I know some basic commands, I love playing with toys, I travel well, and I sleep peacefully through the night. I tend to avoid other dogs, though I might react if they react to me first, and I’m a little nervous around traffic and loud noises — so slow and steady wins the day with me!
If you’re willing to give me time, patience, and lots of gentle reassurance, I’d love to show you what a loyal and loving companion I can be. I might need you to visit me more than once so I can really get to know you before you take me home.

Brodie is approximately 18mths old and has been neutered. He does have limited vision due to bilateral cataracts. He was originally found as a stray and we are told he did spent time in two different foster home.
Since being in our care he has spent a week living in a home but because it was a terraced house he became reactive on hearing all the different noises from the neighbours and would bark, although he was fine with noise from within his own home.
Brodie needs a quiet environment and someone that has an understanding of the needs of a dog with very limited vision.
He is a friendly boy, he is housetrained, travels well, is good with other dogs and enjoys curling up on the sofa with people.

Hello everyone! My name is Jack or "Little Jack" to my friends here at the Trust. I may be smaller than your average size collie but I have a big heart and I am now looking for my owners who I can give that love to.
I am 4 and a half years old and have been neutered. I travelled over to the UK from Romania where I was staying in a kill shelter. I haven't experienced much of the outside world but I did mix with other dogs there and living with another may help my confidence grow.
When I first arrived I was very scared of being handled and didn't want to walk on a lead. I am gradually trying to conquer these fears but it will take me some time.
I now get excited to see the staff and I love it when they scratch behind my ears. I would prefer a quiet home without young children.

Enzo is a friendly, affectionate boy who is looking for a fresh start after finding himself back in our care through no fault of his own. He previously lived in a home environment and has shown himself to be a well-mannered companion who enjoys human company and settles well into family life.
He is housetrained, Used to being left long hrs, and has lived happily with a young child, another dog, and even a cat. Enzo knows basic commands, greets visitors well, and has been friendly with staff and volunteers since arriving with us. He especially enjoys meeting new people and is always happy to say hello!
Enzo can be a little sensitive in certain situations. Traffic can make him nervous, he is not yet comfortable travelling in the car and may salivate on journeys, and he can become restless during grooming. Like many dogs, he may occasionally chew items if feeling stressed or unsettled, so patience and reassurance will help him continue to build confidence.
He has recently met a potential canine companion and coped very well. Although a little unsure at first, he remained relaxed, tolerant, and sociable throughout the interaction, even when the other dog became frustrated. Enzo showed lovely manners and handled the situation calmly.
