This lovely boy came into our care from another rescue, having originally been found as a stray and sadly never reclaimed. As a result, we have no information about his previous life.
He has made a lovely first impression with us, happily greeting staff on arrival and being very comfortable with handling and attention. He travelled well during the hour-long car journey to our kennels and has shown us that he already knows how to 'sit' and takes treats gently.
He also enjoys playing with a ball and showed a friendly interest in another dog he spotted out on a walk, greeting them with a wagging tail.
It's still early days and we're continuing to get to know him, but so far he's proving to be a friendly, cheerful boy.

Zen

Zen is almost 3 years old, he is a neutered black and white border collie. He came into our care following a change in his owners circumstances.
Zen is a little shy when first meeting new people but soon makes friends. He is fine when left alone travels well and is house trained.
He can be worried if over handled as he did trap his tail in a gate and ever since has been worried with his tail being touched. He has been checked by a vet and we are told there's nothing physically wrong with it. Zen has a history of a suspected inflammatory/neurological condition (MUO), for which he received specialist veterinary care and steroid treatment. He experienced one relapse in 2025 but has since successfully come off medication, with no recent concerns. His full veterinary history will be provided to his new owner. He has met teenage children and interacted well.

Dash

Dash is a 2 year old neutered Sable and White shorted coated Border Collie Cross. He came into our care from a rescue in Ireland but we have no other history on him.
Dash is a sweet and affectionate boy and he loves being around people. He very much relies on people for reassurance when he feels overwhelmed. Dash has lived a sheltered life and hasn’t been exposed to much of the world and he will require a secure home with consistent routine to help him flourish.
Dash enjoys spending time with our volunteers and he’s always happy to greet them, he struggles seeing other dogs and can be reactive especially when another dog is reacting at him.
Dash needs support gaining confidence and adopters that are willing to put the effort in to help him discover the world at a pace he’s comfortable with. He’d benefit from living in a quiet area away from too much noise and would enjoy access to walks where he is not going to bump into too many other dogs/vehicles and traffic until he is more comfortable.

Joey

Joey is almost 3 yrs old and has been neutered. He came into our care from Romania where he had spent his life in a foster sanctuary amongst several other dogs in a very rural area.
Joey has lived a very sheltered life and the concept of venturing out into the big wide world is a worrying one for him. Joey will need support transitioning into a home but with patience and understanding we feel that Joey is now ready to take that step.
He really likes the safety of his kennel and is often found curled up resting in his bed, Joey will venture out for walks with staff that he feels comfortable with but he still needs some encouragement at times.
He’s not yet forthcoming with interactions and will likely avoid people where possible. He’s still anxious and would benefit from a stable routine where his expectations are met on a daily basis.
He needs a very quiet and calm home environment with minimal visitors. Joey would gain a lot of confidence from living with another dog although it is not essential.
Joey will likely need more than one visit before going into a home.

Jesse

Jesse is almost 3 yrs old and has been neutered. He came into our care from Romania where he had spent his life in a foster sanctuary amongst several other dogs in a very rural area.
Jesse was very anxious when he arrived with us but over time he has flourished into a charismatic and entertaining boy.
Jesse gets very excited to go out for walks, although this hasn’t always been the case and it’s likely once he goes to a new home he will regress in terms of confidence. He still shows worry around unknown people, new experiences and some dogs. Jesse will need time and patience in his new home to build trust and feel confident enough to show his true colours and personality.
Jesse does sometimes alarm bark at some external stimuli that he feels fearful of and is likely to do this in the home when he experiences all the new things that a home has to offer (e.g hoover, washing machine)
He would benefit from a quiet and calm home environment with minimal visitors. Jesse would gain a lot of confidence from living with another dog although it is not essential.
He will likely need more than one visit before going into a home.

Shep
Male 8 years

Shep is 8yrs old but hasn't been neutered. He came into our care as his owner was no longer able to care for him due to ill health.
Shep can be worried meeting new people and is likely to take a couple of meets at the centre before he feels comfortable going to a new home. His new owners will need to be able to read his body language and the appeasement behaviours that he shows when he is worried.
Shep is housetrained, travels well and absolutely loves playing with toys. Balls are his favourite, but he also enjoys playing tug. Shep hasn’t been left alone much so this will need to be built up over time to avoid separation anxiety in his new home. Shep has probably lived quite a quiet/sheltered life and is under socialised. He is generally avoidant around other dogs, unless they are reacting at him. Moving forward he will need to be introduced to other dogs gradually to reduce any frustration or fear.
Shep would enjoy a quiet home but he is still a very active dog, so an enclosed garden and access to quiet walking routes would be ideal.
