This lovely young boy came into our care from a council pound in Ireland alongside his two siblings. We know very little about his previous life, but when he arrived it was clear that many everyday experiences were completely unfamiliar to him.
He was very shut down, worried about handling and had never learned to walk on a lead. Initially, he showed little interest in treats, toys or people and was happiest when he was with his siblings.
Since then, we've been seeing some encouraging progress. He'll now head towards the door when his lead goes on and is beginning to explore outside at his own pace. He's still easily startled by sudden movements and noises, but he's even started wagging his tail when he sees people he knows!
Our volunteers are spending quiet time with him, allowing him to become accustomed to people without putting any pressure on him.
He won't be a dog who bounds over to greet you on your first visit, but we hope someone will see the potential in this gentle, worried boy. He needs a calm, patient home with someone prepared to let him progress at his own pace.
There's a more confident dog beginning to emerge – he just needs someone willing to give him the time to find his feet.

Chase is a 9-year-old neutered Border Collie who came into our care after his owners felt they could no longer give him the time he needed.
He's a friendly boy who has previously lived in a rural area, and we think a quieter location away from busy roads would suit him well. He would be best suited to a calm home without young children.
Chase is housetrained, travels well and is happy being left for a few hours. He's also a big fan of playing ball, so although he's an older boy, there's still plenty of Collie enthusiasm when there's a game on offer!
He has previously lived with cats but prefers his own space around other dogs, so we're looking for a home where he can be the only dog.
Chase can sometimes lunge towards passing traffic when walking near busy roads, and he has also shown some signs of shadow-chasing while in our care. A quieter home where he isn't surrounded by lots of movement and stimulation may therefore suit him best.
At nine years old, we'd really like to see Chase settled back into a home where he can enjoy his walks, his ball games and plenty of company.

Ernie

Ernie is a 5yr old neutered collie cross. He came into our care from his own home due to a change in his owners circumstances.
He is housetrained, is good when left alone for a few hours, responds to basic commands and travels well.
Ernie is shy meeting strangers and does sometimes bark so will need a little space and time. He also gets worried by visitors to the home so would be better suited to a quiet environment without young children. He is shy around other dogs and does chase traffic.

Gomez is an 18 month old black and white entire border collie cross. He came into our care from a rescue in Ireland, he was one of several dogs removed from the same premises.
He is a nervous boy and will require an owner that is willing to give him the time and patience he requires to gain confidence. He has no real experience of life so everything may be a challenge for him.
He would benefit from living with another dog as this is all he has know and when amongst others does much better

Hi there! I’m Willow. I am nearly 5 yrs old I first came into care because my previous owner couldn’t give me enough time with work and a little one at home. I have had a few short stays in some other homes but they didn't work out and unfortunately when one of my owners took a bag out of my mouth that had treats in it I got frustrated and I snapped at him, but maybe a little too hard as my tooth punctured his skin.
I can be a little shy when meeting new people, but give me a moment and I soon warm up. I’m housetrained, happy to be left alone and I travel well. I love playing ball and i get along with other dogs unless food is involved so i will need to live without other dogs. When I’m out walking, I can get a bit excited around traffic, but I’m learning!
I’m looking for a patient, loving home where I can feel safe and enjoy lots of fuss, fun and games.
I do chase the centre cats so will not live with.

Charles is 2yrs old he came into our care from Romania where he was rescued from a high kill shelter.
Although he has been in our care for 4 months we still haven't been able to build his confidence enough for him to allow us to touch him. He will happily approach us and take treats but is still worried by close contact.
He loves spending time outdoors and will happily approach visitors that pass by and will take food from them but again backs away from any contact.
He is wary around other dogs but has spent time with those that are calm and gentle around him.
Charles is very much a project dog so will require a special type of person who can allow him all the time he requires to gain trust in people. He would be better suited to a quiet home environment where he can have access to a secure outdoor area.
He is crate trained and if he was lucky enough to find a home he would need to travel home in a crate (provided) so he can be lifted in/out of a vehicle without getting too stressed, this would also be beneficial within the home as his safe space.

Hello, I’m Bobby! I’m a 5 year old tri coloured Border Collie. I came into care because my previous owner couldn’t give me enough time due to work. I had a 7-week stay with another family, but it didn’t quite work out as I got a bit defensive with the lady of the house when she tried to correct me but when dad was around I felt much happier around her.
I’m a friendly guy when meeting people, I am housetrained, happy to be left alone for a few hours, and I travel well. I can be a little unsure around other dogs at first and often bark but once introduced correctly I can be ok but I may not live with others. I do have a bit of a chase instinct when it comes to cats.
I’m looking for a patient and understanding family who can help me feel confident and loved.
