Bobby is a 5yr old entire tri coloured short coated collie. He originally came into our care via another rescue we are told his owner relinquished due to work commitments. He then spent 7 weeks in another home but was returned as he growled at the female owner whenever she tried to correct him. He only behaved this way towards her when the male owner was not at home.

Bobby is friendly meeting people, is housetrained, is good when left alone for odd hours and travels well.

He can be a little unsure around other dogs but once he knows them he is fine. Does chase cats.

Hello my name is Shep. I have been around for 6 years but sadly spent most of this time chained up outdoors, then my owner decided he didn't want me around at all so he sent me to a nearby rescue where i spent my days free of a chain and mixing with female dogs but nobody that came to visit wanted me so I'm now living in a recue that is just for collies.

Although I enjoy my time here having plenty of fuss, playing ball and going for long walks I would really like a home of my own. I did go to live with a lady for a week and whilst I was very good indoors, apart from emptying the bin she struggled to walk me as I do sometimes stalk and lunge towards other dogs and traffic and on one occasion when two dogs were peering at me over a wall I slipped my collar and jumped over to them, we did have a bit of an altercation but non of us were injured. I also spent 11 days in another home where i was very well behaved and happily met other people and even a couple of other dogs but then one morning I managed to get passed my owner and down the drive and on seeing a small dog i ran up to it and grabbed it, I didn't hurt it but obviously the owner was very shocked and upset.

Rico

Rico is a 5 year old neutered Black and White short coated Border Collie Cross. He came into our care from a rescue in Ireland. He was an unwanted pet, we are told he lived with children but we don't know what ages they were. He has lived in a rural area so will need introducing to new environments gradually.

Rico is a shy boy and can get worried when meeting strangers and if approached suddenly may bark, he requires time and space as once he overcomes his fears he is an affectionate boy. We wouldn't house him to live with young children.

He loves to play with toys and enjoys running around off lead in our enclosed outdoor area. He does sometimes bark at other dogs but if introduced correctly is usually ok. He is strong on the lead and when out walking in residential areas he does lunge towards traffic.

Buddy is an 8yr old entire collie cross, he is small in height but still weighs 19kg. He came into our care from another rescue but we don't know his history.

He is a friendly boy and should be suitable to live with children over 7yrs old. He is good with other dogs and is quiet and settled in kennels.

He is a favourite amongst our volunteers and loves receiving lots of fuss and enjoys going out for walks.

Reggie

Reggie is a 14 month old entire large cross breed we are told he is a Patterdale x GSD ? He originally came in to our care as the owner was suffering with mental health problems. He then spent 6mths in another home but was returned as his owner didn't feel she could cope with him due to her health issues.

Although Reggie has been raised around children he would benefit from a calm home as he does get over stimulate easily and then finds it difficult to relax. He is housetrained, travels well, is good with other dogs and responds to basic commands.

He isn't really used to being left alone so this will need to be built up overtime.

Edward will be a year old on the 28th December he came into our care as his owners daughter was allergic to him resulting in her requiring steroids.

He can be a little shy when first meeting strangers and sometimes barks but if given a little space and time soon overcomes his fears. He can also show the same behaviour around other dogs even though he has lived with another.

Edward is housetrained and crate trained, is good being left alone for 4 hours, loves to play ball and responds to basic commands.

He does lunge at traffic when out walking and although not really used to travelling is ok in a vehicle.
